NEW PLYMOUTH - Services for Mrs. Elva Madeline Cole, 78, of New Plymouth, who died Wednesday at an Emmett nursing home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Plymouth Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel. Interment will be at the Kennedy-Applegate Cemetery in New Plymouth.
She was born Oct. 28, 1892, at Humbolt County, Iowa. When she was a girl, her family moved to Northern Idaho and later to Emmett. She was married to James Herbert Cole, Dec. 20, 1911 at New Plymouth. They also resided at Emmett, Nyssa, and Fruitland before returning to New Plymouth where they resided for many years. Her husband died in 1960. She was a member of the Emmett Friends Church.
Survivors include three sons, James L. Cole, Dayville, Ore., Richard W. Cole, New Meadows and H. Allen Cole, Ontario; four daughters, Mrs. Claretta Saxton, Ola, Idaho, Mrs. Mildred Rumiser, Meadows, Idaho, Mrs. Janet Rutherfords and Mrs. Nina Bemis, both of Emmett; a sister Mrs. Rhoda Tackett, Fort Dodge, Iowa; 36 grandchildren and 58 great grandchildren.
