Payette
The city of Payette is located at the confluence of the Payette and Snake rivers and junction of the Oregon Short Line and Payette Valley Railroads, in Canyon county, southwestern Idaho, and is the flourishing center fo one of the most extensive and productive fruit sections of the West.

Payette has a population of about 4,000 with up-to-date public schools, twelve or more churches, pipe line gravity irrigation and municipal water and sewerage systems, two national banks, with deposits aggregating nearly a million dollars; large mercantile institutions, extensive fruit packing houses, a cannery, creamery and evaporator, with an ideal climate, at an elevation of 2,147 feet above sea level.

The fertile Payette valley is one of the most natural fruit sections in the great Northwest, is the home of the far-famed Jonathan apple and the largest fruit shipping point in the state.
