Melissa Calhoun Rites To Be Held In Nebr.

Services for Mrs. Calhoun, 81, of Chadron, Neb. who died Friday evening in an Ontario hospital, will be held in Chadron.

Mrs. Calhoun has been visiting relatives in this area for five weeks.

She was born March 16, 1877, in Missouri.

Survivors include three sons, Ray Calhoun of Payette; Chester Calhoun of Twin Falls, and Cleo Calhoun of Hot Springs, S. D.; and three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Schnetaky of Brownlee, Mrs. Agnes Dobbins of Chadron, Neb.; and Mrs. Esther Elston of Eads, Colo.

The remains have been shipped to Chadron for final services and burial. Submitted by Patty Theurer

RECEIVES SAD NEWS

Mrs. C. F. Callen received the sad news by wire Monday announcing the death of her father, D. W. Helsinger, who passed away at his home in Valentine, Neb., that morning. Quite a few people in this community will remember Mr. and Mrs. Helsinger as they were here for some time about eight years ago. Submitted by Patty Theurer

Services Conducted For Myra Callen

Mrs. Myra Elizabeth Callen, 81, of Payette, died Wednesday in Tacoma, Wash.

She had been a resident of Payette for the past 49 years. She was a member of the Methodist church, the Rebekah Lodge, the Women's Relief Corps and the Portia club. She was preceded in death in 1948 by her husband, Curtis F. Callen.

Mrs. Callen is survived by a son, Curtis H. Callen of Tacoma, a daughter, Mrs. Lilah Holden of McMinnville, Ore., and three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Shaffer memory Chapel with the Rev. Charles Easley officiating. The Payette Rebekah lodge performed lodge rites. Interment was at Morris Hill in Boise Monday afternoon.

Pioneer answers Last Call Thursday

J. H. Carpenter passed away December 19th in Ontario just fifteen days after Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, December 4th. Mr. Carpenter was born in Tennessee April 17, 1847. In the early days he was a vocal teacher. In the west he farmed in Washington and Idaho.

Funeral services were held Saturday in the Nazarene church in Ontario. Interment was made in the Kennedy cemetery. His six sons acted as pall bearers. (Applegate Kennedy Cemetery) Submitted by Cheryl Hanson

Pioneer Mother Died in California

Mrs. J. H. Carpenter died at the home of her son, Bob, in McArthur, California September 12, 1936. She was 84 years and 8 months old at the time of her death. She was born in Missouri Jan. 13th 1852. On December 4th, 1865 Josephine Millsap was united in marriage to Henry Carpenter. To this union fifteen children were born to whom thirteen reached maturity and are all still living. Last December on the 4th the Carpenters celebrated their seventieth wedding anniversary. Mr. Carpenter passed away on December 19th. They lived in Payette Valley during most of the last forty-five years.

Her body way brought to New Plymouth by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Carpenter and Winifred Carpenter.

Services were held at the Kennedy Cemetery at 2 o'clock Tuesday and interment was made beside her husband. Rev. G. A. Finch of Payette and Rev. Hugh R. Jordon of Ontario both former pastors of Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter conducted the services.

The surviving children are Mary Miles of Payette, Etta Cole, Ontario, Ann Hanley of Redlands, California, Dess Wilburn of Paddock Valley, Bob and Winifred Carpenter of McArthur, California, Nell Welburn and Grace Knee of Midvale, Alfred, Jim, Wes and Les of New Plymouth and Lida Atkins of Cascade.

All but two of the children were present. One hundred and eight descendants are living.

Many beautiful flowers were presented by loving relatives and friends tokens of love and respect to a mother who was really a mother not only to her own children and grandchildren but also to everyone who asked for and needed help and advice. (Applegate Kennedy Cemetery) Submitted by Cheryl Hanson

NEW PLYMOUTH - Services for Wesley Everett Carpenter, 85, New Plymouth, who died Wednesday at a Payette nursing home will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth, by Allen Cole. Interment will be in Applegate-Kennedy Cemetery, New Plymouth.

He was born June 7, 1889, in Genesee. He moved to New Plymouth as a child where he was reared and attended schools. He farmed most of his life north of New Plymouth. He married Luvena Patton, April 13, 1911, in Ontario.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Florence Ackerman, New Plymouth; a son, Everett, Post Falls; four grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. His wife died in 1973 and five brothers and seven sisters died earlier. (Applegate Cemetery) Submitted by Cheryl Hanson

Harry W. Cerny Dies In Portland

Word was received in Payette this week of the death of Harry W. Cerny, 32, a former Payette resident who had been under a doctor's care for a brain tumor. He had been ill since late October.

Mr. Cerny, son of Mrs. Frank Cerny, graduated from Payette high school in 1940.

Surviving are his widow, Berdena; three children, Dickier, Tom and Nancy Maris, all of Portland; his mother, one brother, Francis of Nampa; five half brothers, and his sister, Mrs. I. Rader of Chappell, Neb.

Interment was at Hill Crest cemetery in Grants Pass, Ore.

CHAPMAN, PAUL BENJAMIN JAMES
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Paul Benjamin James Chapman was given life on Dec. 10, 1980 in Macon, Ga.

For the next 10 years he grew up on the Outerbanks of North Carolina, a place where he loved to run along the sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean hopping and jumping through the ocean surf.

In 1990 a move by his parents brought him to Payette. Over the next 10 years of his short life he would impact many of those around him with his vision of life, bringing joy, sorrow, caring, sometimes a challenge and a smile to those he cared about.

Paul leaves behind his parents Steve and Martha Chapman of Payette; a brother, Eric Chapman of Payette; a sister Neeltje Anderson of Gainesville, Fla.; his paternal grandmother, Alice Knight of Cassville, Mo.; his maternal grandparents, Gerrit and Alta Wille of Jordan, Mont.; two nieces and one nephew.

Paul also leaves behind a number of friends he was very dedicated to. No matter what their plight or situation may have been, he gave his all to them.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Ontario, under the direction of Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Payette.

Paul was a giving person and he loved to help those who were having a difficult time. For this reason his parents ask that in lieu of flowers anyone wishing to remember Paul, to make a donation in his name to Help Them To Hope, in care of Lorna Cottier, Orchard Bank, 98 S. Oregon St., Ontario, OR 97914.

Payette Pioneer Dies, Rites Held

PAYETTE - D. Carl Chase, 79, of Payette, died in a Payette hospital early Monday after a long illness.

Mr. Chase was born Dec. 2, 1877, in Rock Creek, Wyo. He came to Payette from Pocatello in 1882. He was a member of the Episcopal church, Washoe lodge No. 28 and AF and AM and all York Rite bodies.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Fredrica Chase Moore of San Jose, Calif.

Services were conducted Wednesday at the Riverside cemetery in Payette with Washoe lodge No. 28 AF and AM in charge. Arrangements were directed by the Shaffer chapel. (Riverside Cemetery) Submitted by Patty Theurer

John H. Chipman Dies At The Dalles

John Henry Chipman, of this city, died at The Dalles, Oregon, last Saturday following only a short illness.

According to the report, he had gone there only a short time ago to work in the fruit harvest.

Funeral services were held at the Landon-Shaffer funeral home Tuesday morning with the Rev. Paul Felthouse in charge.

He was born at Mitchell, Oregon, July 8, 1890, and was married at Boise Oct. 27, 1923. He came to Payette from Halfway, Oregon.

Surviving are his widow, Opal Mae Chipman, two sons, Leroy John Chipman and Ralph Allen Chipman, both of Payette; two brothers and one sister. (Riverside Cemetery) Submitted by Cheryl Hanson

Joseph Hershel Clark was born on February 25, 1898 in Arkansas. He was married on May 1, 1920. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marie Long of New Plymouth and a son, Walter H. Clark, now stationed with the United Stated Navy at San Diego, California.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning by the Rev. C. U. Carlson of the Congregational church in New Plymouth and interment was at the Applegate cemetery. PAYETTE - Graveside services for Henry Clausen, 99, Payette, who died Friday at a Payette nursing home, were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Riverside at Payette by Dr. Leonard Reifel of Weiser. Services were under direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel of Payette.

He was born Jan. 29, 1876, in Schleswig, Germany. He came to the U.S. at the age of 17. He lived for a time with an uncle in Wisconsin. At age 20, he came to Idaho and homesteaded near Hagerman.

He farmed there until 1945, when he retired and moved to Payette. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Marguerile Lose and Katrine Peters, both of Germany, and several nieces and nephews, among them Mrs. Dora Kosesan, Payette. (Riverside Cemetery) Submitted by Cheryl Hanson

Funeral services for Elsie Pauline Clement, 10 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Early Alvin clement were held at the Baptist church in New Plymouth Sunday. Rev. Harold Lunwick officiated, with burial at the Kennedy cemetery. Landon funeral home was in charge. Elsie was born in 1931 and passed away January 9, 1942 at the Payette General hospital. PIONEER MATRON ANSWERS CALL

Mrs. Addaline Coates, pioneer matron of Payette county, passed away on Monday evening at the Payette Valley Memorial Hospital at the advance(d) age of 91 years.

Deceased was born in McLain county, Ill., Sept. 17, 1857, and in May 1882 accompanied a wagon caravan from Odgen, Utah to Boise. Mrs. Coates was married to the late Daniel B. Coates, on Sept. 17, 1892 and shortly thereafter the couple moved to Payette, which at that time was known as Boomerang and she has resided in this community almost continuously since that time.

Mr. and Mrs. Coates observed their 62nd wedding anniversary shortly prior to the death of the former on Nov. 12, 1942.

Two sisters of the deceased, Mrs. Lulu Eberle, of Payette, and Mrs. Rose Wyman of Spokane, Washington passed away last week.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Clark of Erskine, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Rosa Davis of San Jose, Cal.; six sons, George of New Plymouth, and Albert, Earl, Clarence and Howard, all of Payette, and LeRoy of Newberg, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. Josie Young of Redmond, Ore.; 27 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Albert H. Cobb Dies Wednesday

Services are pending for Albert Henry Cobb, 88, of Payette, who died Wednesday in a Ontario hospital.

Mr. Cobb was born in Dorsetshire county, England, Dec. 8, 1868, and moved to Fruitland nine years ago before coming to Payette. He was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise Cobb, Payette; two sons, John Cobb of Savery, Wyo., and Lawrence Cobb, Bairoil, Wyo.; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Wood, Pacific Grove, and Mrs. Amy Payton, Mill City, Ore; one sister, Mrs. Amy Ralph, Savanah, Mo.; one brother, William Cobb, St. Joseph, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services Held For Edward C. Coblentz

Services were conducted Monday for Edward C. Coblentz, 56, of Payette, who died last Thursday in an Ontario hospital.

Mr. Coblentz was born Feb. 2, 1904, at Flora, Ore., and came to the Payette community in 1909. He had lived here since that time. He was married to Hazel Brown at Emmett in 1937. Mr. Coblentz was a member of the Methodist church and the Masonic lodge. He was a long time employee of the Payette postoffice.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Wayne of Milwaukee, Ore., and Mike of Payette; two daughters, Mrs. Eldon Pearson of Tacoma, Wash., and Kathy of Payette; one brother, Lee Coblentz of Portland; three sisters, Miss Beatrice Coblentz, Portland; Mrs. J. J. Davis, Baker, and Mrs. Fred A. Wilson, Nampa; and one granddaughter.

Services were conducted Monday morning at 10 a.m.at the Shaffer chapel in Payette with the Rev. Leonard Clark officiating. Interment was at Riverside with the Washoe Masonic lodge in charge.

Infant Coblentz Son Dies Monday

Funeral services for William Robert Coblentz, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Coblentz of this city, were held Thursday afternoon at the Shaffer Memory Chapel with the Rev. C. G. Hannan officiating. Interment followed at Riverside cemetery.

NEW PLYMOUTH - Services for Mrs. Elva Madeline Cole, 78, of New Plymouth, who died Wednesday at an Emmett nursing home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Plymouth Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel. Interment will be at the Kennedy-Applegate Cemetery in New Plymouth.

She was born Oct. 28, 1892, at Humbolt County, Iowa. When she was a girl, her family moved to Northern Idaho and later to Emmett. She was married to James Herbert Cole, Dec. 20, 1911 at New Plymouth. They also resided at Emmett, Nyssa, and Fruitland before returning to New Plymouth where they resided for many years. Her husband died in 1960. She was a member of the Emmett Friends Church.

Survivors include three sons, James L. Cole, Dayville, Ore., Richard W. Cole, New Meadows and H. Allen Cole, Ontario; four daughters, Mrs. Claretta Saxton, Ola, Idaho, Mrs. Mildred Rumiser, Meadows, Idaho, Mrs. Janet Rutherfords and Mrs. Nina Bemis, both of Emmett; a sister Mrs. Rhoda Tackett, Fort Dodge, Iowa; 36 grandchildren and 58 great grandchildren. Jerome Howard Cole was born in Cass county, Iowa, March 19, 1858, and died at New Plymouth, Idaho, Nov. 10, 1927.

He crossed the plains with his parents in 1862.

On July 18, 1887, he was married to Henrietta Carpenter at Lewiston, Idaho. Four children were born to this union, Herbert and Albert of New Plymouth, Mrs. Annie Well of Burns, Oregon and Mrs. Mary Weil of Little Rock, Washington. Twenty-two grandchildren were also born to them, 19 of whom are now living.

After numerous wanderings the family settled in New Plymouth, Idaho.

He became a member of the Baptist church in 1888 and reunited with the First Baptist church of New Plymouth, 17 years ago. (Applegate Kennedy Cemetery) Submitted by Cheryl Hanson

Mrs. Frieda Coleman Expires After Illness

Mrs. Frieda Reimers Coleman, a resident of Payette from 1912 until 1949, died Sunday at the home of her mother in Payette. Death came after a long illness.

Mrs. Coleman, 55, married J. A. Coleman in 1949 and had been living in Jamieson, Ore. since that time. She had been a member of the Rebekkah Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was born October 19, 1897, at Reinbeck, Iowa.

Surviving are her husband, of Jamieson; her mother, Mrs. Mary Reimers of Payette; four sisters, Miss Lillie Reimers of Payette, Mrs. Ella James of Lebanon, Ore., Mrs. Anna Mink and Mrs. J. C. Ryan, both of Council, and a brother, George Reimers of Payette.

Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at the Shaffer Memory chapel in Payette with interment following at Riverside cemetery in Payette. Rev. Henry Warber officiated. (Riverside Cemetery) Submitted by Cheryl Hanson

Susan Marie Collinsworth, two and a half year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldwood C. Collinsworth, died at her home in New Plymouth Tuesday night.

She was born July 7, 1954 in Ontario. Survivors, in addition to her parents include a sister, Cheryl, and a brother, Gary, both at home, and her grandmother, Mrs. Irene Macomb, of New Plymouth.

Services were held Thursday morning, at 10 a.m.at the St. Aloysius Catholic church in New Plymouth with the Rev. Fr. T. C. Halpin in charge. Interment was at Park View cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Memory Chapel. (Parkview Cemetery) Submitted by Cheryl Hanson

Charles W. Combs Rites Held Monday

Last rites for Charles William Combs, 83, who died at his home in New Plymouth early Friday after a long period of failing health, were held Monday afternoon at the New Plymouth Shaffer Memory Chapel with Percy Hartland officiating.

Mr. Combs was born at Terra Haute, Ind., on Jan. 3 1875 and came to New Plymouth from Neosho, Mo., in 1934. He was married to Katie Rosella Allen, Oct. 12, 1899 at Springfield, Ill.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, John H., Dennis L., Manford S., and Ralph L., all of New Plymouth and Arthur C. Combs of Ogden, Utah; four daughters, Mrs. Sylvia I. Davis of Caldwell, Mrs. Frances R. McCance of New Plymouth, Mrs. Ruby E. Corn of Meridian, Mrs. Betty L. Vogt of Ogden; three brothers, George and Merle Combs of Virden, Ill., and Edgar Combs of Ellensburg, Wash., 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Last Rites Held For Conn Blick

Services were conducted Tuesday from Conn Blick, 72, of Payette, who died early Saturday morning at a Payette nursing home following an extended illness.

Mr. Blick was born Oct. 23, 1888 at Lincoln, Neb. He came to Payette from Jerome three years ago. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Blick of Payette; a daughter, Mrs. Virgil Pierce of Ontario, Ore.; two sons, Fred A. Kafler of Pocatello, and Edwin Kafler ; one grandchild and two greatgrandchildren.

Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the LDS church in Payette. Interment was at Park View in New Plymouth under the direction of the Shaffer Chapel at Payette. (Parkview Cemetery) Submitted by Patty Theurer

FRUITLAND, Helena M. "Helen" Conner, 86, Fruitland, a homemaker, died Dec. 14, 1987, in an Ontario Nursing home. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Free Methodist Church, Fruitland, Rev. Norman Slosted of the Free Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Fruitland.

She was born Dec. 1, 1901, at Burwell, Neb., a daughter of Peter and Anna Mohr. She was raised and educated near Burwell where she lived on the family's farm. She married Stephen Jay Conner on March 24, 1920, at Burwell. They raised their family of nine children on a farm near there, and in 1944, she moved with her husband and one son to a homestead south of Fruitland. She helped them change an area of sage brush to a productive farm. She worked all her married life as a farm-wife and mother. She was a charter member of the Free Methodist Church in Fruitland. She enjoyed playing piano at church and at home; sewing, knitting, music, and was particularly fond of the time spent with her grandchildren. She was always proud of her husband and five sons serving in the military.

Survivors include seven sons, Calvin E. Conner of Parma, Lavern M. Conner of Quincy, Wash., Joseph E. Conner of Toledo, O. Philip Conner of Eugene, Stephen Henry Conner, Clayton W. Conner and Stanley J. Conner all of Fruitland; two daughters, Anna Rickard of Portland and Alta Southwell of Lake Oswego; a brother, Arthur Mohr of Burwell; and two sisters, Anna Rowse and Rosa Meyer both of Burwell; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband died in August 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a sister.

FRUITLAND Services for S. Jay Conner, 90, a retired farmer who died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1986, at an Ontario hospital, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Fruitland Free Methodist Church, Pastor Matt Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Parkview cemetery, New Plymouth, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Fruitland.

He was born March 30, 1896, in Burwell, Neb., the son of Joseph and Tacy Conner. He was reared and educated in Nebraska, and served in the Army during World War 1. He married Helena Mohr on March 24, 1920 at Burwell. They moved and homesteaded south of Fruitland in 1944, where they began farming. He attended the Free Methodist Chruch in Fruitland. He is survived by his wife, Helena, Fruitland; seven sons, Stephen Henry Conner, Fruitland; Calvin E. Conner, Parma; Claton William conner, Fruitland; La Vern M. Conner, Royal City, Wash.; Stanley Jay Conner, Fruitland; Joseph Edward Conner, Toledo, Ore.; two daughters, Anna Rickard, Portland; Alta Southwell, Lake Oswego, Ore.; three brothers, Charles Conner and Otis Conner, both Burwell, Neb.; and Joe E. Conner, Caldwell; 22 granchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

FRUITLAND, Stanley J. Conner, 70, Fruitland, died Feb. 19, 1999 at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the West Valley Free Methodist Church, Fruitland, with Pastor Doug Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland.

Stanley was born Feb. 9, 1929, at Burwell, Neb., a son of Jay and Helen Conner. He grew up and attended schools in Nebraska. In the fall of 1943, he moved to Homedale, Idaho. In 1944, he moved to Nu Acres and leveled land with his father and worked on area farms. He entered the Army in 1950 and was discharged in 1952. FRUITLAND, Stephen Henry Conner, 73, of Fruitland, died March 31, 1994 at home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Free Methodist Church, Fruitland. Burial will follow at Park View cemetery, New Plymouth under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland.

Henry was born March 30, 1921 in Burwell, Neb., a son of Stephan Jay and Helena Marie Conner. He grew up and attended school in Burwell. He moved to Idaho in 1943 and worked on local forms. He married Eunice Betts on July 7, 1946 in Payette. In 1954 he went to work for Swisher Sand and Gravel where he worked for 13 years. He then woked at Ore-Ida for 23 years, retiring in 1991. He loved gardening. He was a member of the Fruitland Free Methodist Church and was active in helping build its new addition.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice, of Fruitland; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Shirley and Don Favinger of Weiser, Shanna Holiday of Jacksonville, Ala. and Grace and Vernon Syme of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one son Dale of Fruitland; six brothers, Calvin of Parma, Clayton and Stanley, both of Fruitland, Lavern of Quincy, Wash., and Joe and Phil, both of Eugene; two sisters, Ana Rickard of Portland and Alta Southwell of Lake Oswego; three grandsons, two granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to the Fruitland Free Methodist Church building fund, care of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, Idaho 83661.

COOPER, MARTHA SPURGEON
Funeral services were held yesterday at the Payette Baptist church for Mrs. Martha Luticia Spurgeon Cooper, nearly ninety years of age, who died in Ontario Monday.

Mrs. Cooper, who was the grandmother of Mrs. Ed Wicks of Payette, died at the home of another grand-daughter, Mrs. F. S. Taylor, with whom she has made her home since 1904.

Mrs. Cooper came to Idaho and to Payette in 1904.

Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Lilian Elizabeth Dorothy, who also makes her home with Mrs. Taylor in Ontario, and three other grandchildren: Philip Roney of New Plymouth, John A. Roney of Decatur, Illinois, and James G. Pease, of Meyers Falls, Washington. Eight great-grandchildren survive as well.

Mrs. Cooper was born February 3, 1849 at Pana, Illinois. On May 7, 1869 she married John Cooper, at Ravenna, Missouri. Mr. Cooper and a second daughter, Laura Pease Allen, preceded her in death seventeen years ago.

Services conducted by Landon Funeral home were held at the Payette Baptist church with the Rev. C. M. Strong of Payette and the Rev. C. D. Honeyford of Ontario officiating.

The Women's Relief Corps attended the funeral in a body.

Services Held For Former Resident

Mrs. Anna Cornelsen, 88, a former Payette resident, passed away Wednesday at her home in Long Beach, Wash. Graveside services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at Riverside cemetery with the Rev. Henry Warber officiating. Services were arranged by the Shaffer Memory Chapel.

Mrs. Cornelsen came to Payette in 1902 and resided here until nine years ago when she moved to Long Beach. She was preceded in death in 1942 by her husband, Herman Cornelsen.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Katie Vogt of New Plymouth, Mrs. Alva Blayden, Mrs. Ethelyn Hutton and Mrs. Lucille Holtz, all of Long Beach, Wash., Mrs. Anna Asmussen of Venice, Calif., Mrs. Munda Johnson of Portland, nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Services for George V. Crabb, 65, Anchorage, Alaska, formerly of New Plymouth, who died of natural causes Wednesday, Oct. 5, 1983, in Healy, Alaska, were conducted today in Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, New Plymouth, with Rev. Earl Traughber of the New Plymouth Congregational Church officiating. Interment followed in Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth.

He was born Feb. 1, 1918 in St. John, Wash., the son of Bernard and Minnie Crabb. He was reared and educated in Washington. He married Evelyn Lee Williams on Aug. 1, 1941 at Aztec, N.M. They moved to New Plymouth in 1949 where he farmed. Mrs. Crabb died in 1973. He moved to Anchorage in Feb. 1975, where he was a heavy equipment operator for the Alaskan Railroad. He was a member of the Congregational Church in New Plymouth and a member of the Elks Lodge, Wallace, Idaho.

Survivors include one son, Patrick Crabb of Eugene, Ore., two daughters, Georgia Davis of Mt. Vernon, Ore., Diana Hoppell of New Plymouth, two brothers, Francis Crabb of New Plymouth, Kenneth Crabb of Clarkston, Wash., four sisters, Thelma Tewalt of Dayton, Wash., Gladys Ferguson of Waitsburg, Wash., Delores Wright of Eugene, Ore., Phyllis Julian of Prescott, Wash., and three grandchildren. CRANDALL, WILLIAM
William Crandall, nearly eighty-nine years of age, was buried beside his wife Margaret, in Riverside cemetery, Monday, following services at Landon funeral home.

Crandall had lived in Payette since 1919, and had made his home here with a daughter, Mrs. J. M. Conn, during a long period of ill health.

He was born in Van Buren county, Iowa, February 9, 1850, and came here from Fort Collins, Colorado.

Besides Mrs Conn, Crandall is survived by three sons: W. F., Portland, Oregon; E. E., Nyssa, Oregon; and Reuel, Casper, Wyoming. Four grandchildren also survive.

The Rev. C. M. Strong of the Payette Baptist church officiated at the services Monday at 2:30 p.m.

Mrs. Margaret Craig passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Thomas, of New Plymouth on Saturday, December 23. Deceased was a native of Jacksonville, Ill., being born in that city on July 13, 1848. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward Thomas, of New Plymouth, and two sons, Tom Craig, of Buffalo, Mo., and William Craig, of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas and fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Landon Funeral home on December 24 with Rev. P. R. Campbell in charge and interment was made in the Kennedy-Applegate cemetery at New Plymouth. Mrs. Driscoll's Sister Dies at Camas, Wash.

Mrs. Inez Driscoll, high school music director received the word this morning that her sister, Mrs. Ray Crocker had died following a short illness at a hospital in Camas, Wash.

Mrs. Crocker, the former Fairy Sanger was reared in this city and following graduation from the University of Idaho taught for several years at the Payette High school.

Arrangements for the funeral, as of this writing, have not been made.

Final Rites Are Held For Fairy Crocker

Final rites for Mrs. Fairy Sanger Crocker, 53, who passed away last Thursday in Camas, Wash., were conducted at Shaffer Memory chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial services were held at Camas by the Order of Eastern Star Saturday.

Mrs. Crocker was born at White Lake, South Dakota, March 20, 1902. She attended the Payette public schools, University of Idaho and University of Washington.

She was married to Ray M. Crocker at Lewiston, June 1935. Mrs. Crocker was a member of the Episcopal church, OES, Past Matrons Club OES, past president BPW, AAUW and Kappa Kappa Gamma sority.

Surviving in addition to her husband is one sister, Mrs. Inez Driscoll of Payette.

NEW PLYMOUTH - Graveside services for Della Mary Crowther, 84, New Plymouth, who died February 16, at a Nampa hospital, were conducted last Friday at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth.

The Rev. Hayden Abel of the First Baptist Church officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of the New Plymouth Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel.

She was born November 29, 1886 at Creighton, Neb. She came to Idaho with her parents from Iowa in 1904. She was a graduate of Payette High School and Lewiston State Normal and taught in several Idaho schools until her retirement in 1934. She then made her home in New Plymouth.

She was an active member of the New Plymouth Congregational Church and a past noble grand of the Priscilla Rebecca Lodge No 97 of New Plymouth.

Survivors include a brother, Burt E. Crowther of New Plymouth; a sister, Susie B. Needham of Nampa; a nephew, a grandnephew and a grandniece, all living in Rochester, Minn.
