New Meadows

Services for Rufus L. Beeman, 69, rural New Meadowns, who died Wednesday night as the result of an auto wreck between New Meadows and Riggins was held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Riggins Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Vernon Vance officiated assisted by the Rev. Arland Benson. Interment was at 4 p.m. at Park View in New Plymouth. Arrangements were under the direction of Walker Chapel, McCall.

He was born Dec. 14, 1910 at Pueblo, Colo., and came with his family to the New Plymouth area in 1916. He married Pearl E. Percy June 3, 1941 at Wilder and for several years operated the family ranch near New Plymouth. In 1948 they moved to the Little Salmon River area where he worked for the Idaho State Highway Department for 17 years until his retirement in 1970.

Survivors include his widow; three sons, Robert and Ronald both of Riggins and Richard of Boise; two daughters, Sandra, at home, and Mrs. Susan Comar, Jamestown, N. D.; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Nelson, Fruitland, Mrs. Mabel Smith, Clarkston, Wash., and Mrs. Manie Smith, Payette; five grandsons and a granddaughter.
