Services Held For N. Plymouth Matron

Services were held Tuesday morning at 10:00 o'clock in the Shaffer memory chapel for Emma Ella Briggs, 88, who passed away at her home in New Plymouth July 3, where she had resided for the past year.

She was born October 17, 1864 at Marion County, Iowa. Prior to living in New Plymouth she resided for five years at Vale, Ore. She came to Vale from Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Briggs who died in 1928.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Inez Clausen and Mrs.. Berniece Bachelor, both of Valentine, Nebr.; Mrs. Maude Bartholomew, Burr Oak, Kans.; Mrs. Bulah Jackson, Harper, Ore.; and Mrs. Birdeen Andrews of New Plymouth; three sons, Elmer Briggs, Stevenson, Wash.; Lloyd Briggs, Spokane, Wash., and Vern Briggs of Powell, Wyo. She is also survived by 40 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Interment was in Park View cemetery, New Plymouth. C. M. Fowler officiated at the services.
