Michael Ray Brown, 31, New Plymouth, a student, died Dec. 21, 1987, in a Provo hospital of a gunshot wound received while he was working in Provo. (See story Page 1). Services were conducted at 11 a.m. Dec. 23 in New Plymouth Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bishop Monty Pearce, officiated. Interment followed in Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth, under the direction of Payette Chapel of the Roses.

He was born Dec. 12, 1956, at Mountain Home, a son of Moyle and Betty Johnson Brown. He attended school in New Plymouth and was a student at Brigham Young University in Provo at the time of his death. He was a member of the LDS Church and had fulfilled a mission in New Zealand.

Survivors include his parents of New Plymouth; three sisters, Becky McKenzie of Boise, Leisa Brown of New Plymouth and Debbie Lutz of Salt Lake City, Utah; and five brothers, Dan and David Facrell and Jim Brown all of Salt Lake City, Theron Brown of Salem, and Bill Brown of New Plymouth.
