May Laverene Conger

PAYETTE - Services for May Laverene Conger, 74, Payette, who died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1987, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette. Rev. Robert Hefty, First United Methodist Church, Payette, will officiate, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette. Burial will follow in Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth.

She was born Sept. 3, 1912 in North Powder, the daughter of William and Emma Pearson. She attended school in North Powder. She moved with her three brothers, a sister and mother to Payette in 1926 and graduated from Payette High School. She married Burt W. Conger on Jan. 21, 1927. They lived in New Plymouth, Fruitland and Payette. They operated Burt and May's Cafe in New Plymouth for three years. They raised their family in New Plymouth, Fruitland and Payette. She was a member of the Harmony Rebekah Lodge #22; and an active member of the Senior Bowling League of which she was president.

Survivors include her husband, Burt of Payette; two sons, Alex W. Conger of San Francisco, Calif. and Richard W. Conger of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Fay Garner of Ontario; a brother, Joe Pearson of Ontario; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers Dave and Walter Pearson.

Memorials may be made to the Mountain States Tumor Institute.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Payette Shaffer-Jensen Chapel.
