Herman R. Ficken

Herman R. Ficken, 78, a pioneer resident of Fruitland, died Wednesday at 8:30 o'clock at his home from a heart attack and complication incident to a lingering illness. Ficken, during his youth, helped build the railroad through Kansas. He came to Idaho in 1905, and after living here several years, went to California, returning four years later. He was married in Missouri in 1892. Surviving him besides his widow Mrs. Ficken, is a son, Clarence G. Ficken of Fruitland; three brothres, John of Estacada, Ore., George of Bison, Kansas, and Joe Ficken of Boulder, Colorado; and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Sparks of Bison, Kansas, Mrs. George Stulkan of Bazine, Kansas, and Mrs. Will Tipkins, Boulder, Colorado. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
