Myrtle F. Gross, 83, of New Plymouth, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 1997, in a Nampa nursing home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 1997, at Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth with Pastor Jim Vincent of the First Baptist Church, New Plymouth officiating, under the direction of Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Payette.

Myrtle was born August 17, 1913 at Pollock, Idaho, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hinkley. She was raised and educated in Pollock and then married Frank M. Gross from Ola, Idaho on July 25, 1933, in Emmett. They lived on a ranch north of Ola until 1942. They then moved to Orofino, Idaho in 1943, and then to Ahsahka, Idaho in 1944. In the fall of 1945, they moved to New Plymouth where they farmed until retirement. She enjoyed homemaking and being with her family. She especially enjoyed cooking for her grandchildren.

Myrtle is survived by three sons, Clyde and Carl Gross of New Plymouth, and John Gross of Meridian; two daughters, Dorothy Williams of Nyssa and Yvonne Young of New Plymouth; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank in 1988; a daughter, Dixie Young in 1980; two brothers; two sisters; a granddaughter, Cindy Fisher; and a grandson, Clinton Gross in 1995.

Friends may call at Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel in Payette on Friday, Feb. 7, 1997 from 6-8 p.m.
