Elizabeth West Hansen

FRUITLAND - Elizabeth West Hansen, 68, Fruitland, died March 16, 1995, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory chapel, payette. Postor Scott summers of St. Paul Lutheran church, Ontario, will officiate. Burial will follow at Park view Cemetery, New Plymouth.

She was born Sept. 3, 1926, in Stoney Plains, Alberta, Canada, a daughter of Harold N. and Clarinda A. Brumet. In 1929, the family moved to Idaho. Beth began working for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator in 1943. She graduated from New Plymouth High School in 1945. Beth married John Hansen June 12, 1953 at Payette. They made their home on a farm on Little Willow road on the outskirts of Payette. Beth retired from Mountain Bell in December of 1983 following many years there. John preceded her in death in May of 1989; she then moved to Fruitland to be near her son.

Beth had a special love and devotion for her family and friends. Working in her yard and garden were among her favorite things to do in addition to crocheting many afghans.

Survivors include a son and his companion, John R. Hansen and Kim Grosdidier of Fruitland; a daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Jerry Anderson of Albany; two sisters, Jayne Davis of Boise and Georgenne Yager of Payette; one brother, Jim Brumet of Payette, and seven grandchildren, Saphrene, J.C., Chris, Michael, Chad, Amanda, and Craig.

Special thanks to St. Alphonsus, 2-West Oncology Unit, and XL Hospice, Fruitland, for their loving care of our mother. Memorials may be made to either of these organizations in care of Shaffer-Jensen Memory chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
