Lydia Isbell

FRUITLAND - Services for Lydia Isbell, 83, Fruitland, a homemaker, who died Sunday, Aug. 10, 1986, in a Payette nursing home were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Fruitland, with Clyde Lacquement and Bill Goldman, Church of Christ, officiating. Interment followed in Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth.

She was born July 14, 1903, in Bowie County, Texas, the daughter of J. T. and Eliza Darnell. She was reared and educated in Texas. She married Louis B. Isbell on Feb. 8, 1925 at Lakeview, Texas. They moved to New Mexico for a period of time, then moved to Fruitland in 1945. Mr. Isbell died in 1976. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Fruitland.

She is survived by a son, Bennie J. Isbell, Seattle; two daughters, Lila (Mrs. Doyle) Taylor and Lillie (Mrs. Don) Kern, both of Fruitland; three sisters, Lillie Adams, Tucumcari, N.M.; Lola Barbee, Fruitland; and Lorene Payne, Roswell, N.M.; ten grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, three brothers, and one sister.
