ONTARIO - Services for Mabel Jensen, 71, Ontario, formerly of Fruitland, who died Sunday in an Ontario nursing home, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Ontario, by the Rev. Albert R. Nickodemus, of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Plymouth. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth, under the direction of the Lienkaemper Chapel, Ontario.

She was born on June 14, 1909, in Napolean, N.D., to Pete and Amelia Hansen. Her family moved to a farm in Fruitland in 1937. She worked for Ore-Ida Foods, retiring in 1964. She married Thorwald K. Jensen in Ontario on June 4, 1961. The couple later moved to Ontario, where she was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two sons, James Hjorth of West Lynn, Ore., and Larry Hjorth, stationed in Germany with the U.S. Air Force; a daughter, Doris Caywood of Emmett; a stepson, Donald Jensen of Hardin, Mont.; a step-daughter, Amy Ellen Leder of Fruitland; a sister, Clara Maanum of Alexandria, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the chapel from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.
