Mrs. Louava Johnson

FRUITLAND - Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the New Plymouth Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel for Mrs. Louava M. Johnson, 81, Fruitland, who died Saturday at her home.

Lawrence Vice, pastor of the Fruitland Church of Christ officiated. Interment was at Park View Cemetery.

She was born January 24, 1890, at Polk County, Ark. The family moved to Texas when she was a child and she was reared there. She married Robert H. Johnson at Goldthwaite, Tex, June 6, 1909. They resided in Texas until 1936 when they moved to the Nyssa area. Her husband farmed in the Nu Acres community south of Fruitland and worked at the Amalgamated Sugar Factory at Nyssa. In 1963 they moved to Fruitland where she had since resided. Her husband died in 1965.

She was a member of the Fruitland Church of Christ.

Survivors include four sons, Frank of Milton-Freewater, Ore., Tarzan of Nyssa, James of Tacoma, Wash., and Robert Johnson of Pasco, Wash.; four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Cross of Payette, Mrs. Mary Reagan and Mrs. Reta Bailey, both of Portland and Mrs. Leona Devlaeminck of North Plains, Ore.; 30 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
