Lloyd G. "Buck" Knight
MOUNTAIN HOME - Lloyd G. "Buck" Knight, 73, Glenns Ferry, died June 17, 1992, in a Mountain Home nursing home.
Vigil services were held Friday evening at Our Lady of Limerick Catholic Church, Glenns Ferry. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday morning at the church with burial following that afternoon at Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth. Arrangements were under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home.
Lloyd was born March 23, 1919, at New Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Viola Knight. His wife, Gertrude, died Sept. 25, 1991, after 51 years of marriage.
"Buck" was seriously ill during his last few weeks, and spent several days in hospitals in Mountain Home and Boise before his death. Earlier in the spring, Buck had been working on horseback with friends on their ranches, and had proudly attended several of his grandchildren's activities this spring, including his grandson's high school graduation on May 16, 1992.
Buck was a cowboy with an interest in the livestock business. He appreciated and respected many of the people packing the checkbook, and understood the value and importance of those who made the long trot or dug the ditch to the high ground. Buck very much enjoyed roping, and also liked to watch a good bronc ride. These and other activities had been restricted while Buck cared for his wife, Gertrude, during her years of being affected by Alzheimer's disease.
Survivors include an older sister, Lois of Portland; and younger siblings, Bill of Vancouver, Wash., Bonnie of Sandy, Utah, and Terry of Imbler, Ore. Buck is also survived by his son and his family, Lloyd L. Orla, Lloyd B., Jess Clarence and Jennifer Knight of Glenns Ferry.
The family requests no flowers, but fervently asks that your generosity be extended for Buck in Gertrude's memory through the Alzheimer's Association, 4620 Overland Road #211, Boise, Id., 83705.
