Lawrence Wesley Limbaugh, Jr., 57, Fruitland, an orchardist, died Sept. 7, 1988, in an Ontario hospital of natural causes. Rosary was recited at 10:50 a.m. Sept. 10 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, New Plymouth. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 10 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with Father John McGoldrick as celebrant. Services were under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland.

Mr. Limbaugh was born April 8, 1931, at Nampa, a son of Lawrence Wesley Sr., and Catherine Finch Limbaugh. He was raised on the family farm and educated in Fruitland. He graduated from Fruitland High School in the class of 1949. He attended the University of Idaho and Boise Junior college, graduating there in 1951. He served for two years in the U.S. Navy at Point Mugu Naval Air Station, Calif. He then attended Cal Poly, Pomona, Calif. He met Barbara Ruiz in Southern California and they married on Sept. 12, 1954, at Sherman Oaks, Calif. They returned to his home in Fruitland to join the family fruit business in 1955. He worked there for the remainder of his life.

He was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, New Plymouth, and the Elk's Lodge, Ontario. He was especially proud to be a member and the chairman for the Fruitland School Board for 18 years. He was appointed by the governor as an initial member of the Idaho Apple Commission, where he served as Chairman for a number of terms. He was appointed to and served as Secretary for the International Apple Institute's Board of Directors. For many years, he served as a member and chairman of the Payette county Fair Board and the Payette County Zoning Commission.

Larry enjoyed the community he lived and worked in, and throughout his life he strived to make it a better place for everyone. He lived for his family; his parents, his wife, his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Fruitland; his mother Catherine Limbaugh of Fruitland; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cindy Limbaugh of Fruitland; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Connie Limbaugh of Fruitland; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Matt Espe of Seattle; two daughters, Christine Limbaugh and Catherine Limbaugh, both of Boise; a sister Elizabeth Holsinger of Boise; four granddaughters, Jennifer, Melissa, Allison and Anne Marie Limbaugh, all of Fruitland; four grandsons, John, Joseph, Patrick and Lawrence Wesley Limbaugh, III, all of Fruitland and numerous nieces and nephews. His father, Lawrence Wesley Limbaugh, Sr., died earlier.
