Harvey Sorick Services Held

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Shaffer Memory Chapel in New Plymouth for Harvey Lester Sorick, 84, of New Plymouth, who died at his home Saturday following a brief illness.

He was born in Harrison County, Iowa, Feb. 15, 1880, and after living in Wyoming for 27 years, moved from Hillsdale, Wyo., to New Plymouth in 1946.

He married Amy Josephine Daum at Oberlin, Kan., Dec. 29, 1903. He was a member of the IOOF Lodge at Norcatur, Kan.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Amy J. Sorick, New Plymouth; four sons, Neil Sorick, Richland, Wn., Merl and Rex Sorick, Boise, and Max Sorick, Cheyenne; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Stevens, Cody, Wyo., and Mrs. Beryl Staehle, Spokane; a sister, Mrs. Ida Hilyard, Liberal, Kan.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The Rev. Don Hardenbrook of the First Christian Church in Payette officiated and interment was at Park View with rites by the New Plymouth IOOF Lodge.
