Wilma Fern Spangler, 90, passed away March 7, 2006, at the home of her daughter, JoAnn Beeman, in Orofino, after an extended bout with cancer. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2006, at the Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth.

Wilma was born July 4, 1915, in Otis, Colo., to Richard and Anna Hooker, where she received honors in both grade school and high school. Wilma married Harvey Spangler, Nov. 7, 1938, at Ford Morgan, Colo.

The Spanglers lived in Otis, where Harvey farmed, until 1951, when the family moved to Idaho. They bought a 40 acre farm in Fruitland and continued to farm until 1968. After Harvey passed away in 1976, Wilma lived with several family members, including a few years with her brother in Otis, Colo. She later moved back to Idaho, settling in Orofino in 1993, to be close to her daughter, JoAnn, and family. In 2002 she moved in with JoAnn's family, and lived there until her passing.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Spangler; son, Kenneth Spangler; brothers, Clarence Hooker, Lawrence Hooker, Robert Hooker and her twin brother, Wilson Hooker. She is survived by sisters, Sarita Chandler, Burlington, Colo., Thelma Parker, Walden, Colo. and Clara Spears, Lakewood, Colo.; children, Emery (Rachel) Spangler, Fruitland, JoAnn (Ron) Beeman, Orofino, Richard (Sue) Spangler, Sante Fe, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
