Hugh Allen Is Buried Sunday

Hugh Allen passed away at the hospital in this city Friday of last week following a brief illness. Funeral services were held on Sunday with Rev. Curtis Strong in charge and interment was made in Riverside cemetery beside his parents, with the Landon Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Hugh Allen was born at Louisiana, Mo., on October 10, 1875. He was married to Edna Cappelle at St. Louis on Sept. 14, 1900. Mr. and Mrs. Allen moved to Ontario when they first came west and later moved to Payette where they have resided since October, 1924. During his residence in this community Mr. Allen operated a hospital on Sixth Street and later was instrumental in starting the Payette General hospital which he operated for a time. Hugh Allen always took a prominent part in civic affairs being a member of the Payette Kiwanis club for several years during which time he had charge of music.

Besides his wife he is survived only by several distant relatives.
