PAYETTE - Otto C.. Asmussen, 80, of Payette, died Saturday in a Payette nursing home. Services were conducted Wednesday at the Payette Shaffer-Jensen Chapel by Pastor Douglas Field, of the Bible Baptist Church in Payette. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery in Payette.

He was born May 8, 1899, at Falk's Store to Henry and Marie Asmussen. He married Addie May Walker Jan. 6, 1921 in Payette. In 1922, they moved to Longview, Wash., where he worked on construction of housing for the sawmill community. In 1930, they returned to Payette. In 1942, they moved to Portland, where he worked in ship-fitting during World War II. After the war, he worked for the Northern-Pacific Railroad Terminal in Portland, until retiring in 1964. They returned to Payette about two weeks ago. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Portland.

He is survived by his wife of Payette; a son, Larry C. of Burns; a daughter, June Rutledge of Seattle; a sister, Ella Stevens of Boise, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
