PAYETTE - Pearl W. Baker, 99, of Payette, died Saturday at a Payette nursing home. Services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel in Payette by Rev. Ralph Lawrence of Payette First United Methodist Church in Payette. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery in Payette.

She was born July 23, 1879, at Panora, Iowa, where she was reared and educated. She graduated from Drake University at Des Moines, Iowa, with a degree in optometry. She married J. D. "Doc&;quot; Baker on Jan. 1, 1900, at Panora. They moved to Payette in 1909. He died in 1964. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Payette and a 75-year member and past matron of the Lorraine Chapter No. 20, Order of the Eastern Star in Payette.

Surviving are a son, B. W. Baker of Auburn, Calif., a daughter, Mildred Mangun of Payette; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist church and the Eastern Star.
