Mrs. Frances V. Banes

PAYETTE – Services for Mrs. Frances Victoria Banes, 67, of Payette, who died Friday at a Boise hospital were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Shaffer-Jensen memory Chapel in Payette by the Rev. Ed McIndoo of the Ontario First Christian Church. Interment with Rites by Harmony Rebekah Lodge No. 22 of Payette, followed at Riverside.

She was born at Des Moines, Iowa on Feb. 10, 1905. The family moved to Menango, N.D. when she was two. She grew up and attended schools there and took nurses training at St. Lukes hospital Aberdeen, S.D. She married Floyd Banes at Levinworth, Kans. Nov. 29, 1923. They resided there until 1932 when they moved to Payette where she had since resided.

She was employed for many years at Holy Rosary Hospital in Ontario.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Payette, Harmony Rebekah Lodge, No. 22, of Payette, Past president of Byron H. Mehl, American Legion Auxiliary unit of Levinworth, historian of the John Webster Rhodes American Legion Auxiliary of Payette, member of the Past President’s Parley, Boomerang Girls, and the Arts and Crafts Club of Payette.

Survivors include her husband Floyd Banes, Payette; a son, Byron Banes, Renton, Wash., three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Virginia) Martin, Kailua, Hawaii, Mrs. Delbert (Patti) Frates, Fruitland and Mrs. William (Adeline) Walker, Twin Falls; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Dawson, Weiser; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
