Ruby A. Barber, 90, of Payette died Saturday, Sept 01, 2002 at Holy Rosary Medical Center in Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 2 a.m. Saturday, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 350 N. 4th St., Payette. Burial services will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
Ruby was born June 15, 1912 to Peter and Pearl (Gaskell) Johnson at Vale, South Dakota. She married Paul Wesley Barber in 1934, before moving to Payette. She and Paul had five children, Valora Rasmussen of Payette; Alberta Rhinehart of Fruitland; Imogene Heidelberger (deceased); Ron Barber of payee; Althea Edwards (deceased); 32 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Paul died in 1990 after 55 years of marriage. Ruby was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Holy Rosary Hospital for many years and then worked at Nyssa Memorial Nursing Home before retiring in the early 1960's.
