Mary Jean Taylor Belvoir; who is part of a prominent northwest horse racing family, passed away March 12th, 2014 at the age of 71 in Spokane, Washington. A native of Payette, Idaho, Mary raised her kids in Kent, Washington and for the last 11 years made her home in the Spokane Valley. Mary was a very loving mother of Heath, Vann (Sauci) and Clay Belvoir; and grandmother of Ace and Jade Belvoir.

Mary was born on August 16th, 1942; daughter of Herbert P. Taylor and Thyra E. Brewer Taylor. She was a loving younger sister to Herbert, Hubert, J.D., Roy, Troy and Darlene.

Mary loved watching her kids and grandkids play sports, never missing a practice or game. Horses were always an important influence on her life and she was a well known fixture at both Longacres and Playfair race tracks. In recent years, she loved following the horses being trained and ran by her son Vann and brother Troy. Mary was very talented in many facets and absolutely loved sewing, including making pillows, stuffed bears, towels, etc. Besides sewing, she loved spending time gardening and watching sports, especially anything involving the WSU Cougars and Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Mary will be laid to rest with her immediate family in Payette, Idaho. A small graveside service will be held at 10am on March 17th, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery.
