Ellen J. Bowers Dies, Rites Set
PAYETTE - Mrs. Ellen Jane Bowers, 77, of Payette, died early Sunday morning in the Holy Rosary hospital in Ontario.
Mrs. Bowers was born December 20, 1880 at Reserve, Kansas and came to the Fruitland community in 1907. In 1910 she returned to Kansas. In 1930 she moved to the Washoe district where she lived until 1948 when she moved to Payette.
She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include her husband, J. H. Bowers of Payette; three daughters, Mrs. Grace Pope of Payette, Mrs. Opal Bowers Johnston of Scarrdale, N. Y., and Mrs. Letha Worley of Boise; a sister, Mrs. Mary Poister of Morrill, Kansas and six grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Shaffer chapel in Payette with the Rev. Marion Smith of Weiser officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside cemetery.
