PIONEER WOMAN DIES AT HOME

Funeral services were held today (Thursday) at 2:30 p. m. for Mrs. J. H. Bowers, Oregon Slope resident for forty-years who died at her home there early Tuesday morning. Services were held at the Payette Brethren church with Peterson-Foster Funeral home in charge and the Rev. E. J. Glover officiating. Interment was at the Riverside cemetery.

Marvel Elizabeth Roszell was born Nov. 21, 1876 the daughter of George H. and Susanna Roszell of Wayne, Kansas. She was married to Jacob H. Bowers Nov. 28, 1897 at Sabetha, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Bowers moved in 1901 to Wenatchee, Washington and in 1902 to Payette, Idaho where they have resided since. She was a faithful member of the Brethren church throughout her life.

Besides her husband, J. H. Bowers, Mrs. Bowers leaves three children. They are Mrs. Chester Amick and Mrs. Earl Flock, both of Harper, Ore., and Paul Bowers of Payette. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Alice Swab, and one brother Sherman Roszell, both of Twin Falls.
