Mrs. E. C. S. Brainard Buried Sunday

Mrs. E. C. S. Brainard, for thirty-four years a resident of Payette, died last Friday, just ten days after she and her husband celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary.

Services for Mrs. Brainard, who was seventy-three years old, were held Sunday in the First Methodist church at 2:30 p. m. Chapel services, at which friends of the family filled the church completely, were conducted by Rev. Dallas McNeil.

Rev. A. H. Shuman conducted graveside services at Riverside cemetery. The Peterson-Foster Funeral Home directed the funeral.

Mrs. Brainard is survived by her husband, E. C. S. Brainard; two sons, Scott B. of Honolulu, and Lawrence W. of Payette; and by three grandchildren. A third son, Ralph, died in infancy.

Mrs. Brainard, who was born Gertrude Agnes Woodruff, October 13, 1865, came to Payette July 14, 1904. She and Mr. Brainard were married at Livonia, New York, September 26, 1888.

She was an active member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and of the P. E. O. Sisterhood. Until recent years she took an active part in many church and community organizations.

Her son, Scott B. Brainard, of Honolulu, Hawaii, was called to Payette by Mrs. Brainard’s illness, and was here at the time of her death.
