WILLIAM E. "SANDY" BROOKS
PAYETTE - William Edward "Sandy" Brooks, 75, of Payette, died Tuesday in Ventura, Calif. Graveside services were conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery at Payette by the Rev. Arlen Benson of the Payette Assembly of God Church, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Chapel in Payette.
He was born June 7, 1903, at Montrose, Mo. He moved to the Payette area in 1948 and was a mechanic for Wells and Davies Co. He began working as a gunsmith in 1953.
Surviving are two sons, William Brooks Jr. of Ojai, Calif., and Ted of Ashland; a daughter, Lila Beaston of Medford, Ore.; two sisters, Ethel Cooper of Denver and Georgia Sandridge of Longview, Texas; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
