Bernice Lydia Brubaker, 77, Ontario, died Sept. 7, 1992, in an Ontario hospital. Vigil with rosary was conducted at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 12 at Blessed Sacrament with the Rev. W. Raymond Jarboe presiding. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, Payette, under the direction of Ontario's Lienkaemper Chapel.

She was born Aug. 22, 1915, in Payette, the daughter of August and Ethel Shurtleff Young. She was raided and educated in Payette, graduating from Payette High School. She attended one year at Lewis and Clark State College in Lewiston. On Nov. 9, 1934, she married Raymond E. Brubaker. After college they returned to Payette to live. They raised a family of five girls and two boys. They later moved to Emmett where she has since resided. Raymond Brubaker died Feb. 28, 1990.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Villanueva of Emmett, Cathy Lowman of Torrence, Calif., and Terry LaCoste of Miami, Fla.; two sons, Mike Brubaker of San Carlos, Calif., and Pat Brubaker of Eagle; one brother, Weldon Young of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Dorothy Lang of McCall; 18 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Shirley Mansfield and Carol Brubaker, and a sister.
