PAYETTE - Services for Mrs. Alice May Bulmer, 81, Payette, who died Thursday at a Boise Hospital were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Payette, by the Rev. Ralph Lawrence. Interment with graveside rites by Lorraine Chapter ??, Order of the Eastern Star, followed at Riverside Cemetery, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel.
She was born Nov. 14, 18??, at Willow Creek, Minn. She was reared in Minnesota and later came to Fruitland, where she graduated from high school in 1914. She was a lino-type operator for a Payette newspaper for several years. She married Tom P. Bulmer in 1920 at Payette. They operated a plumbing business in Payette from 1920 to 1940. Mr. Bulmer died in 1940.
Mrs. Bulmer was Payette City Clerk from 1943 until she retired in 196?.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a 50 year member and past worthy matron of the Lorraine Chapter ??, Order of the Eastern Star, a 50 year member and past president of the American Legion Auxilary, post oracle of the Royal Neighbors of America, past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Association of Payette, charter member of the Payette County Historical Society, past president of the Portia Club, member of the Municipal League of Idaho, past president of the Payette County Tuberculosis Association and a member of the Payette County Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two daughters, Lois Ann White of Portland and Betty Gutherie of Payette, a son, C. E. "Buzz" Bulmer of Pocatello, eight grandchildren and a great grandchild. A daughter and four brothers died earlier.
