TOM P. BULMER BURIED TUESDAY
Local Legion Commander Passes Away Sunday In Vets Hospital
Thomas P. Bulmer passed away last Sunday in the Veterans hospital in Boise following a recent operation. Deceased is reported to have recovered from the operation in excellent shape and death was occasioned by heart complications. Bulmer was commander of the local post of the American Legion, having been prominent in the affairs of that organization in this city for many years past. The body was brought to Payette on Monday and funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the local Methodist church, with Rev. E. R. Kaemmer in charge and full military rights were accorded at the graveside in the Riverside cemetery with the Home Undertaking parlors in charge of arrangements.
Tom Pexton Bulmer, the oldest son of William and Annie Bulmer, was born December 13, 1884 at Beverly, England. When nine years of age the family came to America and located at Neligh, Nebr., where he grew to manhood. When very young he took up the plumbing trade which he followed the greater portion of his life. In 1917 he came to Payette with his parents, shortly afterwards enlisting in the service of his country and served 14 months in France with the Air Corps. His work took him to many countries in Europe. He was also in the army of occupation and stationed in Coblentz, Germany several months.
After his discharge he returned to Payette. On September 1, 1920 he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Perry. To this union four children were born, the first one dying at birth. The others are Lois Ann age 13, Betty Lou, age 9, and Charles Elbert, age 7. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Franzwa of Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. Else Cooke of Sacramento, Calif., and three brothers, Harry of Whitebird, Wn., Carl of Mulberry, Ind. and Arthur of North Hollywood, Calif. and a host of friends.
