F. A. Carpenter Dies at Age 80

Forrest A. Carpenter, 80, of Payette, died Sunday at his home here following a long illness. He was born May 17, 1882 in Lincoln County, Neb., and married Laura C. Canzier at Ogden, Utah on April 20, 1909.

The couple lived in Ontario from 1942 until 1953 when they came to Payette. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church here.

Mr. Carpenter is survived by his wife of Payette; two sons, Clyde of Payette and Ralph Carpenter of Puyallup, Wa.; five daughters, Mrs. Nettie Smith, Ontario, Mrs. Anna Gosner of Elgin, Ore., Mrs. Mary Hayter of LaGrande, Ore., Mrs. Dorothy Lockner of Fruitland and Mrs. Alice Hines of Portland: and 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were conducted today (Thursday) at Shaffer Memory Chapel, Rev. A. E. Rainwater officiated and interment followed at Riverside Cemetery here.
