ONTARIO - Laura C. Carpenter, 85, of Ontario, died Wednesday at an Ontario nursing home. Services were conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Shaffer-Jensen Chapel in Payette by Revs. Arlen Benson and Willis Geyer, Assembly of God Church. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery at Payette.

She was born Aug. 12, 1893, at Shoshone, where she was reared and educated. She married Forrest Carpenter April 20, 1909, at Ogden, Utah. She lived in Gooding, La Grande, Ore., and Payette before moving to Ontario in 1963. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are two sons, Clyde of Ontario and Ralph of Puyallup, Wash.; five daughters, Mrs. Gene (Nettie) Smith of Ontario, Mrs. Glenn (Dorothy) Lockner of Fruitland, Mrs. Alice Himes of Boise, Mrs. Otto (Anna) Cosner of Elgin, Ore. and Mrs. William (Mary) Hayter of La Grande, Ore.; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
