Funeral For Mrs. Cloud Held Monday
Mrs. Mary Jane Sherbine Cloud wife of Joe M. Cloud, died at the family home on the Oregon Slope, Saturday evening after a brief illness. She was born at Bellevue, Idaho, May 16, 1893, where she grew to womanhood and married Mr. Cloud, September 3, 1913.
In 1923 they moved to the Oregon Slope district where she resided until the time of her death.
To her husband and family she devoted her life and received the greatest reward any mother could ask a fine exemplary family. Yet in her busy life she found time to make a host of friends that was attested by the large concourse who attended her funeral at the Peterson Funeral home in Payette, Monday afternoon at two o'clock.
Rev. Dallas McNeil of the Methodist church, in a few well chosen words, paid tribute to the mother and gave encouragement and comfort to the family and friends.
Mrs. Walter Steiniker sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."
The profuse floral offerings paid silent testimony of the grief and sympathy of relatives and friends.
The burial was in the Riverside cemetery. Those left to mourn besides the husband are the children, Ethel, Preston, George, Keith, Mae, Jean, Florence and Charles. Also her Mother, Martha Sherbine and four brothers, William, Astor, George and James Sherbine, all of Bellevue, Idaho. Four sisters, Mrs. James Borton of Baker, Oregon; Mrs. Sarah Mendenhall, of Weiser; Mrs. Lonnie Southern of Garnett and Mrs. Rachel Powers of Bellevue, and a host of friends.
