PAYETTE - Services for Cora Mae Cockerum, 74, Payette, who died Wednesday at an Ontario hospital were conducted at 11 a.m. today at Payette First Baptist church by the Rev. Jack Anderson. Interment will be at Riverside. Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.

She was born Feb. 4, 1897 at Galax, Va. She grew up and attended schools in Virginia. She was married to Guy Luther Cockerum, May 5, 1915 in Galax. They came to Idaho the same year and farmed in the Payette area. A few years later they moved to Filer where her husband worked for the railroad. They moved back to Payette in 1920. Mr. Cockerum worked for the Post Office Department where he was a mail carrier until his death in 1947.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Payette and Lorraine Chapter No 20, Order of Eastern Star, Payette.

Survivors include four sons, Guy L. Cockerum, Westminster, Calif., Forrest H. Cockerum, Payette; Eugene B. Cockerum, Boise, and Richard C. Cockerum, Idaho Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Alma Lee Alexander, Bayard, Neb; Miss Hazel Cockerum, Payette, Mrs. Dorothy Payne, Moscow, Idaho, and Mrs. Gerre Cain, Payette; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Bennett of Candler, N.C.; two half-brothers, Tom and Darcie Davis, both of Galax; a half-sister, Mrs. Mary Liddle, Galax; two step-sisters, Mrs. Nora Bedsaul, Coos Bay, Ore.; and Mrs. Myrtie Brannock, Galax; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons and two daughters.
