Guy L. Cockerum Dies Sunday

Guy L. Cockerum, 57, long time city mail carrier died at his home here Sunday following an illness of several months.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Christian church with the Reverend Paul Felthouse of the Baptist church giving the sermon. Interment was at Riverside cemetery directed by the Landon-Shaffer funeral home with the local Masonic lodge giving its ritualistic graveside service.

Guy Luther Cockerum was born at Ennis, N.C. Jan. 11, 1890. Shortly following his marriage, he moved to this city from Galax, Va. in 1915 and continued to reside here from that time on.

Besides his wife, Cora M., he is survived by four sons: Guy L. Jr., of Los Angeles, Cal., and Forrest, Eugene and Richard, of Payette; and four daughters: Mrs. N.E. Alexander, Miriatace?, Nebr., and Hazel, Dorothy and Geraldine, of Payette; three grandchildren; a brother, Claire, of St. Helena, Ore., and two sisters and a brother still residing at Galax, Va.

Mr. Cockerum was a member for many years of both the Baptist church and the Masonic lodge of this city.
