Former Resident Dies In Baker

Services were conducted for Imogene Colton of Baker, Oregon on Wednesday, July 10 at the Shaffer Memory Chapel.

She was born Oct. 24, 1887 at Lathem, Kan. and after spending the early years of her life in Kansas she moved to Payette in 1910. On Sept. 24, 1910 she was married to Howell Ray Colton at Caldwell. Except for five years in Arizona they lived in Payette until 1941 when they moved to Portland and after a short time in Bend and Lebanan, Ore., they moved to Baker in 1955.

Mrs. Colton was a member of the Christian church and Harmony Rebekah lodge No. 22 at Payette where she attained the degree of Chivalry.

She passed away at her home in Baker on Sunday, July 7th at the age of 71 years.

Survivors include her husband, Howell R. Colton, Baker, Ore., one daughter, Anna D. Neault, Baker; three sons, Armen V. Colton, Lebanon, Ore., Harold C. Colton, Madras, Ore., and Clifford N. Colton of Tillamook, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. Lulu E. Sommerville of Baker, four brothers, John L. Brubaker, Marysville, Kan., Harlow E. Brubaker of El Paso, Texas, Emmett H. and Scott Brubaker of Payette. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by two sons, Hollis Ray Colton, 9 mo. and Myron Dale Colton gave his life in the armed forces in World War 2.

Interment was in Riverside cemetery in Payette.
