Necia Woodruff Cox, 90, Weiser, passed away Aug. 9, 2005, at the Cottages, Payette, Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Weiser. Visitation will be today, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Aug. 14, 2005, at Thomason Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomason Funeral Home.
Necia was born Aug. 5, 1915, at Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Henry Clive and Louise Woodruff Caldwell. She moved to Weiser with her family when she was a child. Necia graduated from Weiser High School in 1934.
Necia married John Cox Sept. 19, 1937, in Weiser. She worked at the courthouse, a doctor's office, Farmers Co-op and farmed with her husband, son and grandson. She enjoyed roses, knitting, bowling and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Weiser Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she worked in the library and other positions.
Necia is survived by her son-in-law, Glenn Clarke, Houston, Texas; daughter-in-law, Karen Cox, Payette; grandsons, Jim (Nanette) Cox Jr., John (Kay) Cox all of Weiser, Tim (Jill) Cox, Meridian; granddaughters, Angela Cox, Payette, Sarah (Todd) Wixson, Yakima, Wash., Necia (David) Muir, Katy, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Necia was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Jim; daughter, Joan Clarke; grandson, Daniel Clarke; brothers, Owen, David, Clive and Doug Caldwell; sister, Sarah Caldwell and her parents.
Memorial contributions may be made in Necia's memory to a charity of one's choice.
