James Nathan Cradduck "Big Jim"
Mar. 28, 1946 - Oct. 24, 2008

Payette

James "Big Jim" Nathan Cradduck, 62, Payette, left this earth to be with his parents, "Mom" (Barbara), sister (Pat), and son (Brent), on Friday, Oct. 24, 2008.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 28, 2008, at Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Payette. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct 29, 2008, at Riverside Cemetery, Payette.

Jim was born in Chester, Ark., on Mar. 28, 1946, to James and Vesta Cradduck. He grew up hunting and fishing in the Ozark mountains. After searching the country, he came to find his home in the Treasure Valley in 1972. While working at Skyline Farms, he met his future family and wife. Jim and Mary Dawn married in 1978.

Jim started his career as a truck driver with American Fine Foods in 1975 and retired in 1991 due to health problems. He never lost his passion for trucking. In 1994, he started Quick Transport with the help of family and friends. He became known by many throughout the car sales industry for his outgoing personality.

Because of Jim’s positive attitude, few people knew the extent of his declining health. Although he was told in 2000 that he would be starting dialysis, he faced it with optimism. When asked about it, he would say, "I have a better job than you. I work 41?2 hours a day, three days a week, and I get paid better. It’s saving my life."

Jim is survived by his loving wife, best friend and soul mate, Mary Dawn; children, Angie (Mike), James (Laura), Paula (Mike), Scott (Angel), Charles (Mandy), Nathan; 16 grandchildren; and many more that knew him as Dad or Papa; brother, Kenneth (Aileen); Don and Margaret Hatt, "Dad and Mom;" brothers-in-law, David (Gwen), Wayne (Becky); and sister-in-law, Stormie (Robert); plus many nieces and nephews.
