PAYETTE – Services for Stacy Orval Dewey, 24, Payette, who died Friday in an auto accident at McCall, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette by Pastor Floyd Cummings of the Church of the Nazarene in Payette. Interment with military honors followed at Riverside Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 12, 1947 at Nampa. He grew up and attended schools in Payette and graduated in 1968 from Payette High School. He attended Northwest Nazarene College at Nampa for one year and the Clark College at Vancouver, Wash. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1968 and was stationed at LeMoore Naval Air Station in California. He took two cruises, one on the Ticonderoga and one on the Kittyhawk, both in Vietnam waters. He married Gloria Baiz of Hanford, Calif., Aug. 7, 1970. He received an honorable discharge in December, 1971, with the rank of aviation electronics technician third class. He attended the winter semester at Boise State College and at the time of his death was employed by DeBord Construction Company in Payette.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his widow of Payette; two daughters April and Shanna Dewey, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oval Dewey, Payette; a sister, Mrs. Renae Northern, Nampa; grandfather, Lewis Dewey, Clearwater, Idaho; grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Clelland, Payette; six uncles, six aunts and several cousins. A brother, Terrence Leroy Dewey died in 1944.
