Well Known Man Dies Wednesday Evening

Herman D. Ficke died suddenly at his home on North Seventh Wednesday evening. A heart attack was the cause of his death.

Mr. Ficke was born in Germany January 7, 1866 and had made his home in Payette for many years. He had been in ill health for the past ten years, but had improved considerably the past few weeks.

Funeral services will be held Saturday with Rev. A Beutenmueller preaching the sermon.

Funeral services for Hermann Diedrich Ficke were held Saturday afternoon at the Peterson-Foster funeral home here with Rev. Albert Beutenmueller preaching the sermon. Interment was on the Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Ficke died from a heart attack Thursday, June 10.

Hermann D. Ficke was born January 7, 1866, in Hanover, Germany and was baptized in the Evangelical Lutheran church in Germany. He came to the United States when sixteen years of age, and lived two years in New York City then moved to North Fork? Nebraska, where he resided for five years after which he moved to Salt Lake. He was married there to Miss Pauline Rippe and they came to Payette thirty-five years ago where they have since made their home.

He is survived by his wife and six children: Charles Ficke of New York City; Paul Ficke, Salem, Oregon; Arthur Ficke, Moscow ; Miss Alice Ficke, Honolulu, Hawaii.; Harold Ficke, Boise and Hermann Ficke Jr., Helena, Montana. Two grandchildren also survive.
