Helen Louise (Noel) Fisher, 81, of Green Valley, Arizona, and a former resident of Fruitland and Payette, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008, in Tucson after a short illness. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Church of the Brethren, Fruitland. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland.

The daughter of the late Clark and Ava Noel, formerly of Fruitland, Mrs. Fisher was born in Bentonville, Ark., May 24, 1927, and was a graduate of the Fruitland schools. Helen met Bryon Fisher the first time at the Church of the Brethren. His father, Pastor Earl Fisher, married them on Sept. 1, 1946, in the Church of the Brethren.

She went on to complete a Doctorate in Education at UCLA. She was a principal in Los Angles, Calif., and in Portland, Ore., she was principal and area superintendent for the Portland schools.

She is survived by her husband, Byron Fisher of Green Valley, Ariz.; her daughter, Ava Louise Fisher Holt of North Ridge, Calif.; her grandson, John Schuster and his wife Karen and two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Mark Schuster of Los Altos, California.
