Glenn Fitzsimmons, 87, Fruitland, died Jan. 6, 1992, at the home of a daughter in Parma. Services were 2 p.m. today at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. The Rev. Kirk Kestler of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Community Church, Parma, officiated. Private committal services followed at Riverside Cemetery, Payette.

He was born Dec. 25, 1904, at Athensville, Ill., a son of John Garrott and Elzina Ruyle Fitzsimmons. At the age of six, the family moved to the Hutchinson-Witchita area of Kansas, where he was raised and educated. He married Gladys Gillespie on June 23, 1928, at Hutchinson. The farmed there until 1940 when they moved to California, then to Payette in 1942 and settling in Fruitland in 1943. There he and Gladys raised their family. He worked as a self-employed trucker.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys of Fruitland; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Sally Fitzsimmons of Mt. View, Mo.; a daughter, Jane Waggoner of Boise; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Wade Hilliard of Parma, and Helen and Ernnie Dyer of Ontario; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a son-in-law, his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
