Fall From Ladder Causes Death Of Aged Man

Injuries received in a fall from a ladder resulted in the death of an aged cherry picker here Tuesday.

George E. Francis, 71, according to a report by investigating officials fell from a ladder while picking cherries on July 4 at the F. H. Hogue, Inc. orchard north of the city. He was taken to a local hospital and died there from his injuries on July 7.

Other than the facts that he was born in Georgia Nov. 21, 1881 and that he had come to this area about 15 months ago from Coeur d'Alene, little is known of the deceased man.

The remains are at the Shaffer Memory chapel awaiting location of relatives before the funeral arrangements will be made.
