Mrs. Ocie Garrett

Funeral services for Mrs. Ocie Alma Garrett, 81, pioneer Payette resident, were conducted Friday at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory chapel in Payette.

Officiating was the Rev. Jack Anderson of the First Baptist church and graveside rites were held by the Harmony Rebekah lodge No. 22, at Riverside cemetery.

She was born January 29, 1887, at Ilia, Wash. She grew up in that area and was married to Homer Virgil Garrett at Pomeroy, Wash., on October 12, 1907. The couple moved to Cambridge, where they lived a number of years, and Mr. Garrett was a barber.

In 1927, they moved to Salem, Ore., where they lived until 1931 when they moved to Midvale, Idaho. In 1935, they moved to Payette where she has since resided. He preceded her in death in 1954. She was a member of the Baptist church, a 50-year member of the Rebekah lodge, and in Payette was a member of Harmony Rebekah lodge No. 22.

Survivors include three sons, Roy Garrett and Robert Garrett, both of Portland, and Harold Garrett, of Boring, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. Vera Clifton, of Cupertino, Calif., Mrs. Wilma Horn, of Fruitland, and Mrs. Betty Magnuson, of Payette; a sister Mrs. Reva Rugg, Lewiston; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Edwin, in 1959, four brothers and four sisters.
