Pioneer Dies at Ontario Hospital

Emmett T. Golden, 68, a resident of Payette since 1892 and a long time employee of the Andy Little Sheep company of Emmett, died Friday, August 15 at an Ontario, Ore., hospital.

Mr. Golden was born at The Dalles, Ore. on Sept. 15, 1878 and was married in 1904 at Weiser. His wife, Rachel L. Golden, died in 1920. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ethelyn McComb, New Plymouth; and Mrs. Vonza McCaw, Long Beach, Calif.; one brother Lew Golden, Lovelock, Nev.; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Crantford of Philadelphia, Pa.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the chapel of Landon-Shaffer funeral home with Rev. Paul Felthouse officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under direction of Landon-Shaffer with committal services in charge of the Elks lodge.
