Edwin H. "Ted" Holt

FRUITLAND - Services for Edwin H. "Ted" Holt, 78, Fruitland, who died Friday, Aug. 15, 1986, in a Boise hospital, were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Fruitland. Rev. Earl Traughber of the Fruitland Church of the Brethren officiated. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery, Payette, with ritualistic rites by Elks Lodge No. 1690, Ontario.

He was born Sept. 9, 1907, at Hastings, Neb., a son of Edwin and Lillian Holt. He moved to Fruitland in 1910, where he was reared and educated, graduating from Fruitland High School in 1925. He married Virginia Lappart on Aug. 9, 1952, at Fruitland. She died June 3, 1985. He was a member of the Ontario Elks Lodge where he had been Elk of the Year; and a past director of the Diamond Fruit Co.

He is survived by two brothers, William R. "Bill" Holt and James R. "Jim" Holt, both of Fruitland; two sisters, Eva Strawn, Ontario and Gertrude Clark, Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, a brother and two sisters also died earlier.

Memorials may be made to the Elks Lodge Eye Clinic, or to the Heart Fund, in care of the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette.
