Lillian Holt Dies Sunday At Age of 81
Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Fruitland Methodist Church for Lillian Ellen Holt, 81, former Fruitland resident, who died Sunday in Portland, Ore. The Rev. Allen Lambert officiated and the Royal Neighbors of America conducted graveside rites. The Shaffer Memory Chapel, Payette, was in charge.
Mrs. Holt was born in Hastings, Neb., Jan. 25, 1883 and came to Payette from Omaha, Neb. in 1910. She moved to Fruitland in 1911 and lived there until 1961 when she moved to Portland to live with a daughter.
She married Edwin B. Holt in Hastings, Jan. 25, 1905. He preceded her in death in 1947.
She was a member of the Lutheran church and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include four sons: Edwin H. and James R. both of Fruitland, Lt. Col. William R., Payette, and Donald M., Bakersfield, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Eva L. Strawn, Fruitland, Mrs. Gertrude A. Clark and Mrs. Emily M. Chandler, both Portland; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
