Found Dead in His Chair
Marcus Howard, an aged man who owned a ranch on Big Willow Creek about 26 miles from Payette, was found dead in his chair in his room in the Hotel Idaho building last Sunday evening. The deceased had been in feeble health for a long time and had been brought to town by neighbors from his ranch for medical treatment, he having no relatives in this vicinity. Dr. Avey had been attending the deceased and had visited him and assisted him into his chair shortly before death. The body was found by Mrs. McCormick, living in the Hotel Idaho building, who, knowing Mr. Howard was ill, had gone into the room to see if she could be of any service to him. The funeral took place Tuesday morning, interment being made in Riverside cemetery.
