Service Held For Pioneer Dentist Dr. Jacobsen, 79

Funeral services were held Wednesday for Dr. Arno Mark Jacobsen, 79, of Payette, a lifetime resident of Idaho, who died early Monday morning in a nursing home after an extended illness.

Dr. Jacobsen was born August 16, 1880 in Payette and grew up here as a member of one of the area’s first pioneer families. He practiced dentistry here after receiving his degree and then moved to Pocatello in 1915 where he practiced until 1939. He then moved his office to American Falls and returned to Payette in 1952.

He was married October 25, 1917 in Blackfoot to Alice Morene Ross. Mr. Jacobsen was a past secretary of the Idaho State Dental Examining Board.

Surviving in addition to Mrs. Jacobsen are a son, Jack Jacobsen of Flagstaff, Arizona; a sister Mrs. Arma Steele of Payette and three grandchildren.

Services were conducted at the Shaffer Memory Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dr. Fred Pickett officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery.
