Former Payette Resident Passes Away at Nampa
Mrs. Katie Marie Jensen, 74, of Nampa, formerly a resident of Payette, died Saturday evening at her home in Nampa following a brief illness. She was born June 11, 1889 at Scranton, Iowa. She was married to Nels M. Jensen on May 1, 1912 at Scranton and they came to the Payette community in the same year.
Her husband died April 13, 1952 and she moved to Nampa in 1954. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving her is one son, Kenneth H. Jensen of Boise; three daughters, Mrs. Arlene Jacobsen of Willows, Calif., Mrs. Doris Robertson of Twin Falls, and Mrs. Mary Heleker of Payette; two brothers, Richard Hanson of Eagle and Howard Jensen of Redfield, Iowa; six sisters, Mrs. Ella Christensen, Mrs. Helen Christensen, Mrs. Sadie Byrant and Mrs. Amy Byerly, all of Scanton, Mrs. Ida Lindquist of Payette and Mrs. Elsie Neilson of Crystal Lake, Iowa, and 11 grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at the First Methodist Church in Payette with the Rev. C. Keith Mills and the Rev. George Trobough officiating. Interment followed at Riverside cemetery. Shaffer Memory Chapel handled all arrangements.
